Effective 29 September 2026. By using www.outofcal.com you agree to these terms. If you don't, don't use the site.
Out of Cal publishes buyer's guides and price reports about used precision instruments. Everything on it is general information for people deciding what to pay. It is not an appraisal of any specific instrument, not calibration or metrology advice, not a guarantee that a listing is accurate, and not a recommendation to buy or not buy from any particular seller.
Prices are samples. The price bands we publish are drawn from eBay listings and dealer prices on the date shown next to each table. Markets move, sellers change their minds, and a single listing can be wrong. Treat our numbers as a starting point for your own check, not as a quote.
We are not eBay and we are not a seller. Any purchase you make through a link on this site is a transaction between you and the seller on eBay's platform, under eBay's terms and buyer protections. We do not handle payment, shipping, returns or disputes, and we cannot intervene in them.
You are responsible for verifying an instrument before you rely on its readings. Our guides describe checks you can do. Doing them is your call, and so is the result.
Affiliate disclosure. Out of Cal participates in the eBay Partner Network and may take part in other affiliate programs. When you buy through a link on this site we may earn a commission. It does not change the price you pay, and it does not change what we publish. We do not accept payment for rankings or placements.
Content. The text, tables, images and structure of this site belong to Out of Cal unless stated otherwise. You may quote short passages with a link back. You may not copy price tables or guides wholesale, republish them, or feed them into a competing product.
Accuracy and corrections. We try to get it right and we say where the numbers came from. If you find an error, tell us through the contact page and we will fix it and note the change. We do not warrant that anything on the site is complete, current or free of mistakes.
Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, Out of Cal is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content, including money spent on an instrument that turns out to be faulty, mispriced or misdescribed. If you bought something based on a number here, the number was a starting point and the decision was yours.
Third-party sites. Links to eBay, manufacturers, dealers and labs go to sites we do not control. Their terms and privacy policies apply there.
Changes and contact. We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Out of Cal is operated. Questions go through the contact page.
